WIP - Vervaco " Popcorn and Peaches"

Hi everyone, Just updating with a picture of my progress, It's stitching up faster than I expected, soon I will be doing the loop stitches (also called lazy daisy stitch I think) so I will be doing some practice for that.

I need to do lots of back stitching still around the swing, but I will do that when I finish all of the cross stitches.

I haven't decided if I'm going to do the plaque or not, I'm not sure if I want to put our non-wedding anniversary on it, especially when I am likely to do a wedding sampler at some point.

New WIP - Vervaco " Popcorn and Peaches" wedding sampler

Hi everyone, after lots of searching online for the perfect 3 year anniversary gift, for my boyfriend, I found this wedding sampler. I found it really hard to find two cats/bears/cute animals being all loving together so although this is technically a wedding sampler, if you ignore the plaque part, there is no real reference to a wedding so I think it is appropriate. I showed Duncan yesterday and he loves it so thats great :). I tried to keep it a secret, but beacuse we live together there is literally no time that we are appart that I'd have enough time to finish it before the 1st of may, without him seeing it.

I think it's really cute.

I was able to finish the brown bear over the weekend which is great. This is my first time using a hoop, because the dragon is on my scroll frame, and it's working okay, I just wish it was a little tighter, but that could be because I am used to the scroll frame being quite taught.

This picture is the most true to colour, the browns are a lot lighter than in the sample picture.

I'm really enjoying stitching this because there are some new stitches that I haven't done before such as long stitch and loop stitch for the flowers.Update soon, when I finish the other bear :)

Janlynn "Mythical Dragon" WIP - Update

Hi everyone, Its been a little while since my last update  and I thought it would be a good idea to to post my progress

This picture is from the 3rd of this month

This picture is what it looks like today after some stitching last night

I don't take pictures after every session of stitching anymore, I should probably start because it gives a better indication of progress.

It's so exciting seeing the eye and ears :)

Country Companions "To You" Finish + Janlynn "Mythical Dragon" WIP

It has been forever since I've updated, the chaos of end of semester, plus my 21st plus christmas I've just spent the last month and a half relaxing and stitching but no updates

I finished another country companion's hedgehog "To You" in the new year and started Janlynn's Mythical dragon and I've finished close to an 1/8th of the whole chart. It's got amazing colours :) especially because purple is my favourite colour of all time.

There are no real progress pictures of the hedgehog except this picture from nov 10, when I started the flower part as a break from my first hedgehog.

This is it totally finished and framed :) I added the green background in myself, the original chart only featured the square behind the hedgehog.

This is where I am up to today on the dragon, I think it's looking great :)

JBW Chalet with Snowflakes - WIP

I started Chalet with Snowflakes yesterday 7/11 and was able to complete all of the snowflakes and one of the trees.

There are LOTS of confetti stitches in this one, so it will be interesting how I will secure them without carrying the floss too far.

This stocking is going pretty quickly so hopefully I will be done midway through this week.

JBW Reindeer stocking - stitching finished

Hi, I finished the stitching of my reindeer stocking that I'm making for my dad

I will need to sew it to some felt and do some finishing touches later.

This is what i was up to on the 30/10.

I finished all the stitching on the  4/11 and I think it looks really great

After spending a long time finding backstitch letters that I liked, I backstitched in my dad's name yesterday 6/1.

Will start on the stocking for my grandad tonight probably, which has a house with snow and pine trees, I think it's going to look great.

"Congratulations" Is finished and framed! :D

I ordered three custom made frames for "congratulations" from frame shop (and for two other DMC kit hedgehogs which I have yet to start) They arrived on thursday, which was really quick because I only ordered them on tuesday night.

I decided to half-stitch in a very light blue background because I think it looks a lot more finished to have a background on 14 ct.

Today I spent some time searching for some nice backstitch letters for my signature. I decided that it would just be a capital E (I hope to use this across all my framed pieces)  However many of the E's didn't have enough detail or flair which was dissapointing but i ended up finding a nice set of lettering here which had an E that I liked.

After I stitched the signature  I ironed my cross stitch to some iron-on interfacing and then used masking tape to hold everything in place, and I think it came out really well in the end .

This is the back, which I neatened up by putting strips of masking tape of the messy peices I used to secure the interfacing.

I will be posting my progress on the ornaments in a post soon
